  • Profile

Jays strong connection to music started in primary school singing in every choir that gave him an opportunity. In 1998, at age 11, he was successful in auditioning for the Sing 2001 Choir who were destined to sing in a number of large scale performances including the 2000 Sydney Olympics opening ceremony. Jay picked up the guitar for the first time at age 13 and hasn’t put it down since.

In 2005, at age 18, and after 5 years of playing guitar in the background of his guitar teachers rock bands, Jay decided to take it to the next level and start fronting bands and duo performances part time professionally, playing gigs of all variations and sizes. From intimate cafes to sporting events of thousands, Jay has worked hard to create top quality professional shows that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. Finally, in 2013 Jay took the leap and made music his full time career and has since notched up over 300 shows. The JP Project is a fresh approach to building a tailored experience for any imaginable venue and audience. As a soloist, a duo or a trio, there will be no live event that Jay Patterson and The JP Project cannot fill..
